AREA UPDATE ON D2M

We sent 6 competitors to the Area Qualifier for Dressage to Music at Home Farm, Cheltenham on Saturday 12^th June.  For the Novice they were Viv Bell, Viki Watkins, Hollie Clarke, Sara Blackshaw, Sarah Sneyd and Rachael Hanson.  For the Elementary there was Sarah Sneyd and Viki Watkins and we had one pair competing, the sisters Sarah Sneyd and Rachael Hanson.

When I arrived celebrations had begun as Sarah and Rachael had won the Pairs Music, and so qualify for the Championships at Aintree in October.  Well done to them!  They are going to be in Aintree anyway with the Quadrille so it is convenient for them.

I sat with people who are much more knowledgeable than me about Dressage to Music, Jill Cartlidge and Penny Grant from South Shropshire and watched our members strut their stuff.  I found it really interesting and they all looked really good.  It was a help to have people telling me what to look for and ultimately who would win!  Sarah Sneyd did an amusing routine with some Benny Hill music and she was placed 3^rd out of 24 so she qualifies individually for the Championships.  She will be busy that weekend.
